Problem

Since mid-2021, JMH Strings Studio has been building a rapidly growing guitar lesson client list. However, their current method of content delivery is not scalable, nor is it user-friendly for their clients. There is also no web-presence for the Studio, which will inhibit further growth; particularly when they begin releasing non-custom guitar courses for a wider audience.

As a result, Owner Jerry Hay feels unprepared for the incoming growth and is ready to remedy this web availability issue so that he can pivot to the Studio being his full-time job.

Given that the Studio is planning to grow its client-base by 25% by Q3 2022, Jerry needs a website landing page to sell his guitar courses and engage new clients, as well as a user-friendly, single-user login, content delivery system for his custom video lessons and PDF training content.
Solution

Justin Womack will develop a modern website that showcases the value proposition, features, benefits, and customer testimonials of JMH Strings Studio, as well as providing a landing page for current students and subscribers to reach the new content portal and login.

Justin Womack has been involved in the development of several professional website designs for a variety of businesses in North Texas, and has 10 years of web design and 17 years of graphic design knowledge to draw on for this project. Justin is also a musician and worship leader who has navigated sites like the one proposed and will be able to avoid pitfalls and provide insight to how users prefer to experience this type of online learning system.

Justin will use the best practices from these websites combined with his industry knowledge to provide a stable, easy-to-use, website that will help JMH Strings Studio retain clients/students and drive sales.
Deliverables

As outlined in the Process section, Justin Womack will be responsible for delivering the following:
•Website strategy document that outlines navigation, key pages, visual style, etc.
•Layout for the website to be reviewed, iterated, and agreed
•Full designs for the new website to be reviewed, iterated, and agreed
•Final, mobile-responsive website live at jmhstringsstudio.com
•Content delivery system solution, set up, branding, and a teaching session on same

It's also worth noting what is outside of the scope of this project, but is available at another point for a separate fee, if desired:
•Optimization for and submission to Search Engines
•Design of other branding assets such as logos
•Email integration and setup through Google Workspaces or similar
•Data entry of existing clients/uploading of existing media content to content delivery system
•Web mastering/maintenance of the website going forward
Process
In order to build JMH Strings Studio the high-performing website they need, Justin Womack will walk through the following process with the owner, Jerry Hay.

Goals
Firstly, we'll work together to establish goals for the website and how they fit into the wider goals of the Studio.

Discovery
Once we've established the goals of the website, we'll then work to identify where the opportunities lie. This can involve some or all of the following:
Data analysis - we'll look at existing clients and their lesson schedules, as well as the existing content that will need to be hosted.
•Comparison shopping - We'll take a look at existing websites & services that are operating in the same space and determine what works and what doesn't; this way we can avoid other people's failures as we proceed with the design & implementation.
Pain points - We'll determine where the existing process falls down in terms of capability, user-experience(UX), and scalability

Strategy
Once we've completed the discovery phase, we'll then come up with an overarching strategy for your website.
This will include information like what pages we'll have, how navigation will work, visual style, conversion paths, etc.
This strategy will be driven by the insights gained from the Discovery stage, and will leverage our knowledge of music lesson industry best practices.
We'll present this strategy back to you for review, iteration, and approval.

Wireframing
Once the strategy is agreed on, we'll do a basic wireframe of your new website that will show the navigation, page layouts, copy, etc.
This will allow you to understand how the site will look and what messages will be conveyed, and will allow us to iterate quickly until everyone is aligned.

Design
Once the wireframe is agreed on, we'll then turn the wireframe into a high-fidelity design that shows exactly how each page of the website will look.
We will present this back to you as an interactive prototype that will allow you to click through the website and experience it as if it were live.
We'll then iterate and make any final changes in this stage before signing off and beginning development.

Development
Once the design has been agreed on and signed-off, we'll then develop the website on the Squarespace Platform.
Using an intuitive builder like Squarespace makes it quicker for me to develop websites and allows for the possibility of self-maintenance more realistic for you; which means a more affordable, hands-off approach to web mastering.

Sign-off, Launch, and Training
Once the website is built, we'll jump on a video call or have an in-person meeting and walk you through the new website. Once you've signed-off on it, I'll push it live at JMHStringsStudio.com and we'll do a final testing phase to ensure smooth operation between the website and the CMS.
Finally, we'll do a basic training session of Squarespace so you'll understand how to edit the website when you need to do regular updates of information, pricing, and content.
